Look how much we've grown

One more skin change and look how big we are now!
Just need some fresh leaves to chomp at.

Giant Silk Moth Caterpillars

They are now 1cm long and have already shed their skin once.
Can you believe that in three weeks they will be at least as big as your little finger.

Just had to do it again

Hi there
This card is for the Graphicus Guild April challenge. I had made one just the same before but it had some messy marks so I just had to do another without them. Outside is so beautiful at the moment I wish work didn't get in the way. Still it makes me happy just to look out on it!

Look What I've Got

Well, sometimes we find unexpected things in our fridges - usually green mold! But look what I found today - hatched caterpillars.
To be fair, I knew the eggs were there and I was expecting to take them out of the fridge, sometime soon, where I had been keeping them until there were leaves on the oak tree - their favourite food. When I checked them today I realised that four caterpillars had already hatched. I have 5 now. Each of them is nearly 1/2 a centimeter long. Unfortunately the oak leaves are not ready so they are feeding on hawthorn which is a good substitute in the beginning.

These caterpillars of the Giant silkmoth grows very large have a green face and more interestingly, they spin a wonderful egg-shaped cocoon of BRIGHT GREEN SILK.

I have not raised this variety before so I will be photographing them regularly and look forward to the moths hatching later in the year.

Something I did Earlier

Frustrating though it is to be looking for something in an overcrouded craft room, sometimes it comes up trumps.
Today I found these two brooches made with paper beads. I must get around to wearing them!
I stamped and embossed the paper with Elusive Images 'Peacock Glory' background stamp. Then I cut it into strips which were glued and rolled to make the paper beads. The metal and glass beads were threaded onto beading thread and used to close the open ends of the beads.

Blossom

Well, don't the trees and hedgerows look beautiful. Bluebells fill the woods with colour and perfume and I must get out there to take more photographs.
The card is one I have produced for Graphicus Guild April challenge - Blossom with the colours pink and green. I think all of the products I have used were bought from Gaphicus except for the basic card and peel off. The background papers were printed from an Artilycious CD and the leaves cut from a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The flowers/blossom was printed and embossed using stamps from 'Butterfly Daisy' and 'Butterfly Poppy Collage' theme plates.

Newbie at Whipsnade

We took the opportunity to visit our local wildlife attraction, Whipsnade zoo, yesterday. There were crouds and we could go anyday but in this country you have to take the opportunity when the weather is right.
As usual we headed straight for the elephants. We usually follow them on their walk around the zoo. It's good exercise because they walk at quite a lick. Yesterday we got waylaid at the Zoo farm. The llama and alpacas seemed to be behaving differently. They were all attracted to one part of their field and looking over the fence.
We had to see what was going on.

This is the oh so cute culprit.
